Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies (COPE)
Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies (COPE) is a network of citizen-volunteer outreach groups that help neighbors before, during and after an emergency to foster community preparedness. There are 16 active COPE groups in northern Sonoma County. The mission of COPE is to help residents, families, and neighborhoods better prepare, respond to and recover from emergency situations such as fires and floods. This preparation includes developing individual response plans, maintaining individual emergency supply kits, and reaching out to neighborhoods in the community.
