Below is a summary of benefits provided to full-time employees of the City of Healdsburg.
RetirementParticipation in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) 2.5%@55 for non-safety members; 3%@50 for safety personnel. Single highest year for all groups; 1959 Survivor Benefit Level IV. The City does not participate in Social Security.
Medical PlansMedical insurance premiums for employee and dependents are paid by the City. Employees may choose from Kaiser or Blue Cross for medical coverage.
Dental PlanDental coverage is provided through the City’s group plan with Delta Dental. Dental insurance premiums for employee and dependents are paid for by City.
Vision PlanVision coverage is provided through Vision Service Plan (VSP) and the premiums for the employee and dependents are paid for by City.
Life InsuranceGroup term life insurance and AD&D policies are provided by City. Management employees are provided a $100,000 term life insurance policy. Mid-Management, MEA and IBEW employees are provided a $75,000 term life insurance policy and HPOA and IAFF employees are provided a $50,000 term life insurance policy.
Long-Term DisabilityLong Term Disability insurance is paid for by City. Employees are eligible for up to 67% of their salary to a maximum of $7,000 monthly.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)The City’s employee assistance program is administered by CIGNA Behavioral Health and is available to employees and dependents.
HolidaysTwelve paid holidays per year. Part-time employees receive holiday pay on a prorated basis.
Sick LeaveEmployees accrue sick leave at eight hours per month with unlimited accrual. Employees who retire from the City are eligible to receive payment for one-half their accumulated sick leave per MOU provisions. Part-time employees accrue sick leave on a prorated basis.
Vacation LeaveEmployees accrue ten days per year, increasing with service. Employees may accrue up to two times their annual accrual rate. Management and Mid-Management employees may accrue up to three times their annual accrual rate. Part-time employees accrue vacation leaves on a prorated basis.
Longevity PayEmployees are eligible for 2%-8% additional compensation for 5-25 years of continuous service with the City.
Deferred Compensation Plan/401 Money Purchase Plan/Retiree Health Savings PlanVoluntary participation in the City’s deferred compensation, money purchase plan and retiree health savings plan is available to employees.
